Rowena Tam awarded PODS II Scholarship

Rowena Tam, PT, DPT, CLT was awarded a Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS II) scholarship from the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research. Her project, “Enhancing Quality of Life for Breast Cancer Survivors with Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions through Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy,” focuses on exploring the connection between pelvic floor dysfunctions and breast cancer treatments. This project is supported by the Pelvic Health Award, which is generously supported by the APTA Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy and the Board-designated Goergeny Fund. Dr. Tam is a graduate of the SDSU DPT Program, serves as an Associated Faculty in the DPT Program, treats pelvic floor and oncology patients at a private practice in San Diego, and is working towards her PhD in Public Health (Health Behavior) under the mentorship of Drs. Sheri Hartman (UCSD) and Lori Tuttle (SDSU).
