Congratulations to Carla Baxter (Class of 2018) on earning an APTA Minority Scholarship Award! This prestigious award recognizes physical therapy students for their professional character and academic excellence.

Carla earned several other honors while she was a DPT student at SDSU, based on her unwavering commitment to community service (particularly with underserved populations) as well as achievements in the classroom:

PT Student Winner of 2016-2017 California Outreach Challenge (April 2017)
ENS Emeritus Professor’s Scholarship (March 2017)
Sharp HealthCare Health and Human Services Scholarship (March 2017)
SDSU DPT Cohort IV Community Service Award (May 2018)
SDSU DPT Cohort IV Research Excellence Award (May 2018)

Carla is now working as a licensed PT and looking to continue to work in research.
