Two Steps to Apply

All prospective students must apply in BOTH systems below. Applicants are responsible for meeting all deadlines and ensuring all required documents have been received.

Step 1: Apply in PTCAS

June 15 - October 1*

*IMPORTANT: Academic verification takes some time in PTCAS; they recommend submitting applications at least one month prior to the deadline. Allow extra time as directed if using the paid transcript entry service.

PTCAS is a Centralized Application System for Physical Therapy programs that allows you to apply to multiple programs efficiently, and is required for admission to the program.

• The fee is $175 for your first application and $75 per program thereafter
• Your acceptance to the program will be evaluated based on materials submitted in this application, which include:
  • Academic history and test scores
  • Prerequisite coursework
  • Observation hours
  • CV
  • Essay & short answer questions
  • Video Introduction
  • Letters of Recommendation
• Send GRE scores through ETS to code 1911
• Official transcripts required; submit as directed

Step 2: Apply in Cal State Apply

October 1 - December 1

Cal State Apply is the Centralized Application Service for the California State University campuses and is required for admission to the University.

• The fee is $70 per campus
• Apply for the Fall semester even though our program starts in Summer
• This application is primarily used for degree verification; only required fields/areas must be completed
• Send GRE scores through ETS to code 4682
• After applying, check your my.SDSU portal for transcript requirements and submit all required documents by December 15. Transcripts sent prior to completing your application may not link to your application.  Applicants are responsible for ensuring transcripts have been received.  Transcripts are not required for SDSU coursework for this application only. Transcripts may be sent electronically (preferred) via Parchment or similar, or to [email protected]. Allow extra time for mailed transcripts:
