Bio

I joined San Diego State University in 2013 and am now a Professor in the School of Physical Therapy. I am the director of the Pelvic Health and Rehabilitation Laboratory at San Diego State University, where my research has centered on rehabilitation approaches for the pelvic floor and surrounding musculature in women with pelvic floor dysfunction. I have experience in exercise interventions utilizing both human and animal models and non-invasive imaging techniques. I utilize my experience as a licensed physical therapist to ask clinically relevant questions and have fostered interdisciplinary collaborations to create unique methodology and approaches to these questions. My work has been funded by private foundations, university grants, and the National Institutes of Health.
